A meeting was held with another group of people with war-related disabilities at the Shagan Rehabilitation Boarding House of the State Medical-Social Expertise and Rehabilitation Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Directors of the Agency Vugar Mammadov provided information on the reforms carried out in the field of disability and rehabilitation in our country in recent years. He brought to attention the work done to modernize the rehabilitation infrastructure in our country, and alternative rehabilitation methods applied based on advanced world experience.
It was noted that after the Patriotic War, which ended with our magnificent Victory, 3600 war participants, as well as their family members and members of the martyrs' families, were provided with rehabilitation and socio-psychological services at the Agency's rehabilitation centers. Thanks to the efforts of a professional team of doctors and the application of modern and effective rehabilitation methods, most of them have already regained their previous health and left their disabilities behind.
Today, a large number of those war participants work in various positions in both the state and private sectors.
Vugar Aliyev, Head of the Employment Opportunities Assessment Department of the State Employment Agency under the Ministry, noted the work carried out in the field of ensuring employment for members of the families of martyrs and war participants.
It was reported that during the post-war period, the Agency provided employment to 27 thousand people from these categories, including the establishment of small businesses for 12,9 thousand people within the framework of the self-employment program. It was also emphasized that 493 of our servicemen who were injured in battles and lost their limbs were provided with 610 high-tech, latest-generation prostheses.
The war participants expressed their agreement with the modern rehabilitation system established in our country, rehabilitation services and tools for people with war-related disabilities, especially the work carried out in the field of providing them with latest-generation prostheses, as well as employment measures.
The meeting exchanged views on the reforms carried out in the field of disability and rehabilitation, the work done in the field of providing effective rehabilitation services to people with war-related disabilities, and listened to opinions and suggestions.
