Social indicators for the first quarter
In January–March of this year, the State Medical-Social Expertise and Rehabilitation Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population provided 4,800 persons with disabilities with 247 thousand rehabilitation devices.
Of these rehabilitation devices, 626 were wheelchairs (including 10 motorised wheelchairs), 543 were upper and lower limb prostheses, and 1,006 were canes, crutches, and elbow crutches.
Additionally, 2,003 pairs of prosthetic and orthopaedic shoes, 482 hearing aids, 75 corsets, and other rehabilitation devices were provided to persons with disabilities.
For individuals who were unable to travel to Baku, to the Agency’s Prosthetic-Orthopaedic Production and Rehabilitation Centre, the required rehabilitation devices were delivered directly to their homes.
