30 July marks the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.

In accordance with the National Action Plan for Combating Human Trafficking in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2026–2030, approved by the Presidential Order of President Ilham Aliyev dated 15 July 2026, measures to strengthen the social protection and rehabilitation of victims of human trafficking continue across the country.

In line with the Action Plan, the Social Services Agency, operating under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, continues to provide regular support to individuals affected by human trafficking.

During the current year, the Agency’s Assistance Centre for Victims of Human Trafficking has provided social, legal, socio-economic, socio-psychological and medical-social services to 25 victims and potential victims of human trafficking (persons at risk of becoming victims of human trafficking).

The Centre’s multidisciplinary team, comprising social workers, psychologists and legal advisers, prepared and implemented an individual social rehabilitation plan for each beneficiary.

Victims and potential victims of human trafficking are also supported through their participation in active labour market programmes to improve their employment opportunities. At the same time, awareness-raising activities are carried out across the regions to increase public awareness of human trafficking.

It should be noted that, pursuant to a resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, 30 July is observed annually as the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.
