During the past period, 44 children have been placed with foster families by the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
In this regard, in accordance with the legislation, agreements have been signed between the Ministry and the individuals who have taken these children into foster care regarding the placement of the child with the foster family.
The “Foster Family” care model is one of the widely recognized global examples of child care.
The placement of children who have lost their parents, are deprived of parental care, or have been placed in institutions by their parents, into foster families, is aimed at ensuring their growth and development in a family environment under state supervision.
Among the children placed with foster families, 16 are boys and 28 are girls.
Additionally, 23 children are under the age of 6, 17 are between the ages of 7-13, and 4 are between the ages of 14-18.
Out of the 44 children placed with foster families, 23 currently live in families in Baku, while 21 live in families in the regions (1 in Agjabadi, 1 in Bilasuvar, 1 in Jalilabad, 1 in Ganja, 1 in Goychay, 3 in Goygol, 2 in Khachmaz, 4 in Lankaran, 1 in Shamakhi, 1 in Sheki, 4 in Shamkir, and 1 in Zagatala).
