Social Indicators for the eight-month period

The Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population provided 376,000 rehabilitation aids 9,000 persons with disabilities in January–August this year.

Of the rehabilitation aids provided, 1,599 were wheelchairs, including 27 powered wheelchairs, 1,230 were lower- and upper-limb prostheses, and 1,896 were walking sticks, crutches and elbow crutches.

In addition, 5,385 pairs of prosthetic and orthopaedic footwear, 1,413 hearing aids, 152 corsets and other rehabilitation aids were provided to persons with disabilities.

For persons with disabilities who are unable to travel to Baku either themselves or with the assistance of their relatives to receive rehabilitation aids from the Agency’s Prosthetic-Orthopaedic Production and Rehabilitation Centre, the aids were delivered directly to their homes.
