A media tour was organized to Psychoneurological Social Service Institution No. 4 in Ganja city, operating under the Social Services Agency of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
Journalists got acquainted with the services provided in the institution. They were informed about the rehabilitation work carried out with lonely individuals and those in need of special care, the working principles of the departments, the forms of services provided, and the admission rules of the institution.
It was noted that in the 3-storey, 110-bed institution, social services are provided to persons over the age of 18 who have disabilities due to mental or mild intellectual disorders, who have lost their self-care ability due to disability, and who do not have employable relatives or legal representatives able to provide care and assistance. Currently, 108 people are receiving services in stationary conditions there.
Admission to the psychoneurological social service institution is carried out through the application of the person or their legal representative, as well as through the application of municipalities or non-governmental organizations, via the local offices of the Agency or DOST centers. Residents of the institution are provided with accommodation, food, clothing, social-household, and social-legal services. Various activities, excursions, and other events are also organized to ensure the efficient use of their leisure time.
At present, four psychoneurological social service institutions of the Agency are operating in Baku and the regions. A total of 576 persons benefit from social services in these institutions.
