At the Sumgayit Rehabilitation Centre under the State Medical-Social Expertise and Rehabilitation Agency of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, a meeting was held with another group of persons with war-related disabilities.
Deputy Chairman of the Agency’s Board, Vugar Mammadov, provided information on the reforms carried out in recent years in the field of disability and rehabilitation in our country. He highlighted the works carried out for the modernisation of rehabilitation infrastructure and the alternative rehabilitation methods applied based on advanced international practices.
It was noted that since the Patriotic War, which ended with our glorious Victory, 3,665 war participants, as well as their family members and family members of martyrs, have been provided with rehabilitation and socio-psychological services at the Agency’s rehabilitation centres. Thanks to the efforts of a professional team of doctors and the application of modern and effective rehabilitation methods, the majority of them have already regained their health and overcome their disabilities.
Head of Department of the State Employment Agency under the Ministry, Juma Nabiyev, spoke about the measures taken to ensure the employment of family members of martyrs and war participants.
It was mentioned that in the post-war period, part of these categories of people were provided with employment, including through the self-employment programme under which small businesses were established.
It was also emphasised that nearly 500 servicemen injured and who lost their limbs in the battles were provided with 612 high-tech next-generation prostheses.
War participants expressed their appreciation for the modern rehabilitation system established in our country, the rehabilitation services and means provided to persons with war-related disabilities, particularly the supply of next-generation prostheses, as well as employment measures.
The meeting also included an exchange of views on the reforms carried out in the field of disability and rehabilitation, the measures taken to provide effective rehabilitation services to persons with war-related disabilities, and opinions and suggestions were heard.
