An election was held to determine the new 9-member composition of the Public Council under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.
A commission consisting of 9 members (4 employees of the Ministry and 5 members from civil society institutions) was established for the purpose of organizing the election, and an announcement regarding the election was made.
Twelve candidates from civil society institutions had their candidacies approved to become members of the Public Council.
The election, held with the participation of 89 registered representatives from NGOs and the media, was conducted in an objective and transparent manner. As a result, the following 9 individuals were elected as members of the Public Council under the Ministry:
In accordance with the "Public Participation" Law, the Public Council under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population ensures public participation in the Ministry’s activities, the improvement of legislation in relevant areas, the involvement of civil society institutions in the process of adopting legal acts, and public oversight.
According to this Law, the term of authority of the council is two years, and every two years, a new composition of the council is elected by civil society institutions.
