A new 9-member Public Council under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population was elected

An election was held to determine the new 9-member composition of the Public Council under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population.

A commission consisting of 9 members (4 employees of the Ministry and 5 members from civil society institutions) was established for the purpose of organizing the election, and an announcement regarding the election was made.

Twelve candidates from civil society institutions had their candidacies approved to become members of the Public Council.

The election, held with the participation of 89 registered representatives from NGOs and the media, was conducted in an objective and transparent manner. As a result, the following 9 individuals were elected as members of the Public Council under the Ministry:

1. Mammadov Elshad Yaqub oglu - Deputy Chairman of the "Umman" Care to Children with Disabilities Public Union
2. Nuriyeva Zulfiyya Safar gizi - Chairman of the "Support for Socio-Economic and Agricultural Development" Public Union
3. Azimzade Aslan Javid oglu - Member of the "Assistance Center for the Development of Free Economy" Public Union
4. Rizazade Irada Baghir gizi - Chairman of the "For the Social Welfare of Citizens" Public Union
5. Mahmudova Ramila Rasim gizi - Chairman of the "Inclusive Society for Persons with Disabilities" Public Union
6. Mammadov Sahib Malik oglu - Chairman of the Executive Committee of the "Citizen's Labor Rights Protection League"
7. Mammadzade Bahruz Gasim oglu - Chairman of the "For Special Forces Veterans, Martyrs' Families, and Veterans" Public Union
8. Gasimov Rey Karim oglu - Chairman of the "Association of Mine Victims in Azerbaijan" Public Union
9. Guliyev Jamaladdin Alibala oglu - Advisor to the Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation

In accordance with the "Public Participation" Law, the Public Council under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population ensures public participation in the Ministry’s activities, the improvement of legislation in relevant areas, the involvement of civil society institutions in the process of adopting legal acts, and public oversight.

According to this Law, the term of authority of the council is two years, and every two years, a new composition of the council is elected by civil society institutions.
