The State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population is launching a pilot project titled “Creating Additional Jobs for Socially Vulnerable Persons” within the framework of the “Employment Support Project,” implemented with the financial support of the World Bank.
The pilot project aims to increase employment opportunities for unemployed and job-seeking individuals in production and service sectors, as well as to support the development of businesses established by individuals who became self-employed under the “Employment Support Project.”
At the initial stage, the project will cover the Baku, Absheron–Khizi, Guba–Khachmaz, and Lankaran–Astara economic regions.
The eligibility requirements for participants of the project are as follows:
- Having a household established under the self-employment programme that has been active during the last year;
- Having no overdue obligations on taxes or other mandatory payments in the Republic of Azerbaijan as of the date of application (a certificate from the relevant tax authority must be attached to the application).
A total of 50 beneficiaries meeting the above criteria will be selected. For the employees hired by these beneficiaries, the full amount of salary and related mandatory payments will be covered by the “Employment Support Project” for the first 3 months, and 50 percent of these costs will be covered for the following 3 months.
