With the support of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, a talented young singer, Sabina Asgarova, who has a visual impairment due to 81-100 percent impairment of the body's functions (I degree), improved her vocal skills in Italy and Spain for 3 months in February-May of this year.
Sabina Asgarova, an employee of the DOST Center for Inclusive Development and Creativity under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, participated in master classes of Andrea Semeraro, a famous tenor of the La Scala Theater, in the city of Corbetta, Italy, during this trip.
Having expanded her vocal capabilities during these classes, our singer performed a solo concert program at the building of the Corbetta City Hall and was awarded a certificate by the city's mayor, Marco Ballarini. Later, she successfully completed vocal courses of James Sedgwick, a teacher, singer and guitarist at the Shine Music School in Barcelona (Spain) and received certificates.
Sabina Askerova, who lost her sight at the age of 3 and started playing the piano at the age of 6, later joined vocal classes and studied at the Variety Singing Faculty of the Azerbaijan State University of Culture and Art.
Our young talent, who also has the ability to play several musical instruments, has participated in music and pottery training at the DOST Center for Inclusive Development and Creativity for the past two years and has been working at the Center since 2023.
