An info tour was organised for representatives of civil society institutions to the Shelter and Social Rehabilitation Institution for persons belonging to vulnerable population groups, operating under the Social Services Agency of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population.
Participants closely familiarised themselves with the activities of the Social Rehabilitation and Restoration Department for persons with visual impairments within the institution.
The event aimed to provide information about the services delivered to persons with visual disabilities and the efforts undertaken to ensure the integration of beneficiaries into society, as well as to learn the opinions and proposals of non-governmental organisations in this field.
During the info tour, participants reviewed the conditions established within the department and the services provided there to persons with disabilities.
Guests were informed that purposeful activities are carried out with beneficiaries in teaching the Braille alphabet, developing proper skills in the use of a white cane, and enhancing foot sensory perception. Each resident receives services in accordance with an individual development programme.
It was noted that individuals aged 5 to 29 are admitted to the department. During their stay, they are engaged in social and domestic, medical-social, and social-psychological services, and are provided daily with meals in accordance with nutritional standards, accommodation, and clothing.
Questions of interest to the info tour participants were answered, and their opinions and suggestions were heard.
