Members of the Public Council under the Ministry and heads of youth-related non-governmental organizations (NGOs) participated in the infotour.
In connection with International Youth Day, marked on August 12, the State Employment Agency, under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of Population, organized an infotour to small businesses established for young people under the self-employment program.
During the infotour, members of the Public Council under the Ministry and heads of youth-related NGOs became acquainted with a barbershop established for Emil Aliyev and a car lubrication service facility set up for Rinat Guliyev through the provision of assets under the program.
Deputy Chairperson of the Management Board of the Agency, Ramal Guluzade, emphasized that one of the targets of active employment measures is to ensure the employment of young people.
It was noted that as part of ongoing efforts, in the first seven months of the current year, the State Employment Agency provided employment to an additional 36.4 thousand young people. During the same period, the Agency also engaged more than 4 thousand young people in vocational training courses aligned with the requirements of the modern labor market and provided vocational guidance services to 152 thousand individuals, predominantly young people, to support them in choosing a profession or specialty.
The importance of the self-employment program in supporting young people’s access to small business opportunities was underlined. It was stated that nearly 2 thousand young people were involved in the program in January–July of this year. They participated in training on the organization and management of small businesses, and, upon completion of the training, were provided with assets in accordance with their business plans.
Information was also provided on other initiatives aimed at supporting youth employment, such as “Youth Business Workshop,” “Create Your Business Marathon,” “Mobile Coffee Houses,” “Progress,” and others.
Young program participants expressed their satisfaction with the implementation of the self-employment program, which creates opportunities for unemployed individuals to access small business activities. They conveyed their gratitude to the head of state for the support provided in establishing their businesses and emphasized their determination to work diligently to further develop their small enterprises.
