The head of the Azerbaijani delegation, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population, who participated in the 113th session of the International Labour Conference of the International Labour Organization (ILO) in Geneva (Switzerland), Anar Aliyev met with ILO Director-General Gilbert Hungbo within the framework of the session.
The minister noted the constant expansion of cooperation between the ILO and Azerbaijan, and the importance of the Organization's Director-General's visit to Baku in April of this year in the development of these relations. It was noted that Azerbaijan has joined 59 ILO Conventions in the past period.
It was noted that our country is currently assessing the possibilities of ratifying three more ILO Conventions. Two Decent Work Country Programs between Azerbaijan and the ILO have been successfully implemented and the signing of the next Country Program is planned.
The importance of close cooperation between the Labour Center of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Baku and the ILO, and the work carried out to ensure decent settlement, employment and economic activity in our liberated territories were brought to attention.
Gilbert Hungbo expressed his satisfaction with Azerbaijan's active cooperation with the ILO and his pleasant impressions of his visit to our country in April this year.
A meeting was also held with ILO Regional Director for Europe and Central Asia Beate Andres. Issues of future cooperation between Azerbaijan and this Organization were discussed at both meetings.
Anar Aliyev also met with Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Republic of Türkiye Vedat Ishıkhan within the framework of the session. It was emphasized that with the joint efforts of the heads of state of Azerbaijan and Türkiye, relations based on friendship and brotherhood between the two brotherly countries have constantly developed and have risen to the level of alliance.
The reforms carried out in relevant areas of activity and the work done on the cooperation agenda were discussed. Views were exchanged on the ratification of relevant ILO conventions, issues of cooperation within this Organization, and the future development of relations in the field of labour and social protection.
