A delegation consisting of representatives of the DOST Agency and the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population participates in the 33rd European Social Conference of the European Social Network.
The event held in Aarhus, Denmark, was dedicated to the topic “When Care Complements Technology”.
Within the framework of the conference, Chairman of the Board of the DOST Agency Farid Mammadov and Chairman of the Board of the Social Services Agency Vugar Behbudov held meetings with the Chairman of the European Social Network Christian Fillet, as well as heads of social protection institutions of a number of countries.
During the meetings, information was provided on the successes of social reforms carried out in Azerbaijan in recent years, the advantages of the DOST concept, the directions of activity of the Social Services Agency, and social services provided to vulnerable groups. An exchange of views was held on future cooperation in these areas.
At the conference, Farid Mammadov, in addition to the general experience of the DOST Agency, spoke on the topic of “DOST Student Acceleration Program: supporting the socio-economic development of students with disabilities”.
It was noted that more than 70 young people with disabilities participated in the Program, which serves to increase the employment skills of young people with disabilities and create relevant internship opportunities, and the satisfaction rate was 100 percent. It is planned to establish a digital platform for the permanent implementation of the Program and to ensure more effective communication between students and employers.
The 33rd European Social Services Conference is dedicated to the digitalization of social services, as well as the formation of new ideas on supporting personal development and social relations, exchange of experience and transformation. The Conference, the main annual event of the European Social Network, with the number of participants approaching 1000, provides an opportunity to share innovations in the field of social services.
It should be noted that the DOST Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population has been a member of the European Social Network since 2021, and the Social Services Agency and the State Employment Agency since 2023.
Farid Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the DOST Agency, was elected a member of the Council of the European Social Network with voting rights in March 2021, and a member of the Board of Trustees of this organization for a period of 3 years in December 2023.
