Within the framework of consistent social reforms carried out in recent years, important steps have been taken in our country to develop rehabilitation infrastructure in line with modern requirements, expand its network, and equip it with new technologies.
In the post-war period, the State Medical-Social Expertise and Rehabilitation Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population has granted disability status to 4,452 veterans of the Patriotic War. Among them, nearly 500 veterans have been provided with 612 state-of-the-art high-tech prostheses.
Since the end of the war, 3,665 war participants, as well as their family members and members of martyrs’ families, have received rehabilitation and socio-psychological services at the rehabilitation centers of the Agency.
Thanks to the efforts of professional medical teams and the application of modern and effective rehabilitation methods, the majority of them have already regained their health and overcome their disabilities.
As a result of the Agency’s efforts aimed at restoring the health of veterans and supporting their reintegration into society, in the first 8 months of the current year alone, 218 veterans of the Patriotic War have been fully rehabilitated and have returned to active life.
Providing effective rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities caused by war and expanding medical-social rehabilitation opportunities remain among the key priorities of the Agency.
