The Inclusive Social Development and Social Protection Working Group held its next meeting regarding the implementation of the targets set in the Strategy of Socio-Economic Development of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2022–2026.
The meeting, organized in videoconference format, discussed the report on monitoring and evaluation of the work carried out in the first half of 2025 within the goals of the Strategy “Ensuring that every citizen benefits from development” and “High and fair social protection.”
Chairman of the Working Group, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Vusal Nasirli, emphasized the significant progress achieved in the social sphere as a result of consistent and large-scale reforms in recent years. He noted that from the beginning of 2025, the next, fifth social reform package since 2018 has been implemented, and increases in salaries, pensions, allowances, and benefits continued this year as well.
Deputy Executive Director of the Center for Analysis and Communication of Economic Reforms (CACER), Ramil Huseyn, stressed the importance of the work done and underlined that the measures implemented within the Strategy are also of great significance for the upcoming Strategy covering 2027–2030.
Deputy Chairman of the Working Group, Deputy Head of the Economic Analysis Department of CACER, Elnur Alakbarov, presented the results of monitoring and evaluation carried out in both directions. He gave detailed information about the report, drawing attention to the main challenges and recommendations. The meeting continued with discussions on the report.
The Inclusive Social Development and Social Protection Working Group includes representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, the Center for Analysis and Communication of Economic Reforms, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Science and Education, the Ministry of Health, the Central Bank, the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, the State Migration Service, and the Youth Foundation.
