Meeting of the OIC Labour Center held
A meeting of the Executive Council of the Labour Center of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was held in Baku with the participation of labour ministers and delegations from member states.
The meeting aimed to prepare for the 2nd session of the Center’s General Assembly and to strengthen its activities.
The opening session began with welcoming remarks and the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an.
Chairman of the OIC Labor Center Executive Council and Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Anar Aliyev, emphasized that Azerbaijan supports strengthening Islamic solidarity worldwide and that relations between the country and the OIC are built on effective cooperation and dialogue. He highlighted that Azerbaijan, as an active member of the OIC, remains committed to the organization’s core principles.
He noted that the OIC Labour Center, established at the initiative of President Ilham Aliyev, plays an important role in strengthening solidarity and enhancing cooperation among member states. He stressed the significance of the meeting in terms of strengthening the Center’s activities.
Deputy Chairman of the OIC Labour Center Executive Council and Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Abdullah Nasser M. Abuthnain, underlined that the meeting provides opportunities for expanding relations among member states and for active exchanges of experience.
Director-General of the Center, Azer Bayramov, spoke about the role of this youngest OIC institution in expanding cooperation among member states in the development of labor markets, protection of workers’ rights, and increasing employment opportunities.
During the meeting, the activity and financial reports of the OIC Labour Center were presented.
In the working sessions, the Executive Council discussed and agreed upon a number of resolutions to be submitted to the General Assembly of the Labour Center. The session concluded with closing remarks from the Chairman of the Council and the Director of the Labour Center.
