The Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population held a meeting with the delegation led by Anna Bordon, the head of the International Monetary Fund mission to Azerbaijan, who was visiting our country.
Informing the delegation about the successes of social reforms carried out in Azerbaijan in recent years, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Anar Aliyev drew attention to the significant increases in wages, pensions and other social payments.
The projects implemented to support the labour market of our country and access of vulnerable groups to the labour market were noted. It was noted that the scope of active employment programs has been significantly expanded, and a digital infrastructure of services in the field of labour and employment has been established.
The work done to develop the skills of the workforce in accordance with the requirements of the labour market was also discussed. The steps taken to increase women's employment opportunities were noted. It was noted that the reforms carried out in Azerbaijan in recent years regarding women's labour were cited as an example at the 2025 Summer Meeting of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
The meeting exchanged views on social reforms implemented in our country, active employment programs, as well as future areas of cooperation.
