One of the recent amendments made to labour legislation at the beginning of this year introduced 14 calendar days of paid leave for men in connection with the birth of their child.
To date, 1,126 employees have been granted 14 calendar days of paid paternity leave following the birth of their child by 415 employers.
This leave covers the periods both before and after the birth of the child.
To be granted the leave, the employee must submit to the employer a certificate issued by the relevant medical institution confirming the birth of the child.
Following this, the employer grants the employee paid paternity leave. An order on granting the leave is electronically generated in the “Labour and Employment” subsystem of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population.Discussions were also held on improving the activities of the Trilateral Commission in accordance with the General Collective Agreement for 2026–2028, as well as on measures to expand opportunities for the integration of young people into the labour market.
