Future cooperation in the areas of labour and employment, and the digitalisation of social services was discussed during the meeting.

A meeting was held at the DOST Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population with a delegation from the Republic of Senegal headed by Mamadou Lamine Diante, Minister of Civil Service, Labour and Public Service Reform of Senegal, who is visiting Azerbaijan.

The delegation first familiarised itself with DOST Centre No. 1. Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev provided information about the DOST Agency and DOST Centres, established pursuant to the Decree signed by President Ilham Aliyev on August 9, 2018. It was emphasised that the DOST concept, initiated by First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva, enables public social services to be delivered through a “one-stop-shop” approach in a transparent and efficient manner, in line with citizens’ needs and satisfaction.

Presentations were made for the delegation on DOST services and Azerbaijan’s digital achievements in the social sector.

During the bilateral meeting, Anar Aliyev emphasised that relations between Azerbaijan and Senegal are developing in a spirit of mutual respect and friendship, and that there are opportunities to further expand cooperation in the fields of labour and social protection. The delegation was informed about the reforms being carried out in Azerbaijan in the social sector.

It was noted that the Labour Centre of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) serves as an important platform for developing cooperation among OIC member states in the fields of labour, employment and social protection.

It was emphasised that the DOST model has received high international recognition. It was also noted that the Senegalese side has expressed interest in the DOST concept. Azerbaijan expressed its readiness to share its experience with the Senegalese side in the areas of labour relations, establishment of DOST Centres and digitalisation of services.

Expressing satisfaction with the continued development of bilateral relations, Mamadou Lamine Diante stressed their interest in expanding cooperation between the two ministries during the reform process and conducting regular exchanges of experience.

The meeting discussed future cooperation in the areas of labour and employment, development of social dialogue and digitalisation of social services, as well as the exchange of experience in these areas and the establishment of a legal framework for cooperation between the two ministries.
