The play titled “One Time, A Thousand Memories” was presented with the participation of the children of martyrs of the Patriotic War, organized by the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population.
The premiere took place on the stage of the Azerbaijan State Academic Theatre of Young Spectators and was attended by government officials, members of parliament, cultural figures, members of the families of martyrs, and others. The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a moment of silence in honour of the memory of the martyrs.
Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population Anar Bayramov, speaking at the event, emphasised that under the leadership of the President, Victorious Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev, families of the heroes who sacrificed their lives in the Patriotic War, in which our Army achieved a magnificent historic Victory, are covered by extensive social support measures.
He highlighted the ongoing efforts to strengthen the social protection of the families of martyrs, as well as the attention given to revealing and promoting the creative talents of the children of martyrs and supporting their artistic potential. The Deputy Minister noted that the play being presented is another event in this direction.
Chairman of the Public Council under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population Elshad Mammadov underlined the significance of the Ministry’s initiatives for the social protection of the families of heroic martyrs and the importance of activities supporting the development of the abilities of the children of martyrs.
In the play, performed after the official part of the event, the story revolves around modern-day children meeting great thinkers and geniuses of the past. With the help of a time machine created by their teacher, they travel back in time and converse with prominent Azerbaijani historical figures. Alongside the children of martyrs, professional actors of the theatre also performed in the play, which celebrates the human bond with history, memory, and love for the homeland.
The author of the idea for “One Time, A Thousand Memories”, presented within the framework of the “Heroic Children on Stage” project, is Lala Zahir; the scriptwriter is Samira Ashraf, and the stage director is Sabina Mammadzade.
The project, dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the Patriotic War, is implemented within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the State Social Protection Fund and McDonald’s Azerbaijan. The aim is to uncover and showcase the talents and skills of the children of martyrs and to promote their connection to national and moral values.
