The results of the monitoring for 2024 on the implementation of the “Action Plan for 2020-2025 on the implementation of the Employment Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2030” were discussed at the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communication (CAERC).
The Executive Director of the Center, Vusal Gasimli, emphasized the important role of employment provision in supporting sustainable economic development. He noted that in recent years, significant work has been done in the field of labour market and employment in accordance with the priorities of the Employment Strategy. The Executive Director of CAERC emphasized that the main target indicators set within the framework of the Strategy serve to increase labour productivity in the country, as well as to create a modern and competitive labour market. He especially noted the impact of innovative factors such as modern technological transformations, demographic changes and artificial intelligence on the structure of the labour market.
Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Vusal Nasirli brought to attention the work done to implement and expand active employment programs in accordance with the Employment Strategy. He noted that in recent years, an extensive program has been implemented in the field of electronic services of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, digital services have also been launched in the field of labour and employment, and the importance of the “Labour and Employment” subsystem for labour market participants. The Deputy Minister noted that the measures taken within the framework of the Strategy to increase social welfare and expand employment opportunities, and support the access of vulnerable groups to the labour market are aimed at ensuring the sustainability and inclusiveness of the labour market in the country.
Then, Elnur Alakparov, Deputy Head of the Economic Analysis Department of CAERC, presented the monitoring results for 2024 within the framework of the Action Plan for 2020-2025 on the implementation of the Employment Strategy. The most important projects implemented in accordance with the established priorities and issues important for discussion were brought to attention.
Officials from the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population and the Ministry of Science and Education provided information on the ongoing and future measures to be taken in connection with the issues discussed after the presentation.
It should be noted that in accordance with the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the approval of the “Employment Strategy of the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2030” dated October 30, 2018, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population and the Ministry of Science and Education monitors and evaluates the implementation of measures related to the implementation of the Employment Strategy.
