The next meeting of the Tripartite Commission on Social and Economic Issues, comprising representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, the National Confederation of Employers’ Organizations of Azerbaijan (ASK), and the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation (AHIK), was held.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population Rashad Mustafayev, Head of the AHIK Apparatus Hasan Jafarov, ASK Vice President Vugar Zeynalov, and members of the Commission from all three institutions.
Opening the meeting with introductory remarks, V. Zeynalov drew attention to the agenda items and highlighted the role of discussions conducted by the Tripartite Commission in improving labour legislation.
In accordance with the agenda, discussions were held on the work carried out within the framework of the General Collective Agreement signed between the Cabinet of Ministers, AHIK, and ASK for 2023–2025, as well as on the draft “Action Plan for 2026–2030 for the Implementation of the Employment Strategy.”
Information was also provided on the work conducted by the working group examining the possibilities of ratifying the International Labour Organization’s Convention No. 102 on “Minimum Standards of Social Security” and Convention No. 187 on the “Promotional Framework for Occupational Safety and Health.”
At the meeting, a unanimous decision was adopted to transfer the chairmanship of the Tripartite Commission to the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population for the next year, in accordance with the Commission’s Charter.
