Five years ago, under the leadership of the President and Victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the Azerbaijani Army achieved a historic victory in the Patriotic War, liberating the city of Fuzuli and surrounding villages from Armenian occupation on the 21st day of the war — October 17, 2020.
On November 16 of the same year, the President raised the glorious Azerbaijani Flag in the city of Fuzuli. By decrees of the Head of State, the “For the Liberation of Fuzuli” medal was established, and every year on October 17, Fuzuli City Day is celebrated.
Like other liberated territories, Fuzuli is undergoing large-scale reconstruction and revitalization, entering a new stage of development.
The residents of Fuzuli, who have finally returned to their ancestral homeland after years of longing, are filled with immense joy and pride as they go back to their native lands.
