During the medical examination of citizens called up for compulsory military service, conscripts who have been given the following opinions are subject to a final medical examination:

-       fit for regular military service (“B” category);

-       temporarily unfit for military service due to their health condition, with a deferment from conscription (“C” category);

-       unfit for military service in peacetime but of limited fitness during wartime (“C” category);

-       unfit for military service both in peacetime and wartime (“D” category).

It should be noted that the final medical examination of conscripts is conducted at the Medical Assessment Centre of the State Agency for Medical-Social Expertise and Rehabilitation under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population, which is equipped with the latest medical equipment. The examination is carried out on an electronic appointment basis based on a referral entered into the Ministry’s “Medical Examination” subsystem by the Central Military Medical Commission.

The centre is equipped with the latest modern medical equipment. Using this equipment, a specialised team of professional doctors conducts general and biochemical blood tests, ophthalmological examinations, audiometry, BERA tests, spirometry, ultrasound examinations, electroencephalography, echocardiography, electromyography, X-rays, gastroscopy and dental examinations of conscripts.
