6 years have passed since the establishment of the National Observatory on Labour Market and Social Protection Affairs under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population by the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev dated July 4, 2019.
The National Observatory carries out monitoring, analysis, research, and forecasting work in order to make effective management decisions in the areas of labour, employment, social protection, and demography. With this activity, it also supports the formation of flexible approaches in accordance with the dynamics of the labour market, the establishment of social policy on a scientific basis, and the development of state programs in the field of employment.
Identifying strategic employment areas in the labour market is among the main tasks of the National Observatory. For this purpose, surveys are regularly conducted with employers and various population groups across the country.
Over the past period, the organization has organized surveys among 21 thousand respondents. In addition, the education indicators of more than 800 thousand students and graduates in various fields, information on more than 1,3 million employment contracts, and information on 200 thousand vacancies were analyzed.
The National Observatory's activities, including labour market research, transparent survey process and research results, reliable analysis examples, and training services have been highly appreciated by prestigious international organizations. This year alone, the institution has been awarded 3 international awards.
As an analysis and research center, the main goal of the National Observatory, which actively cooperates with relevant international and local centers and higher education institutions, is to become one of the leading think tanks in the region.
