A meeting was held at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population with a delegation led by Mohammed Abdiker, Chief of Staff of the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Rashad Mustafayev provided information on the measures being implemented in Azerbaijan to improve migration policy, manage the labour market and regulate labour migration processes.
It was noted that the rights of migrants and their family members are protected in the country and that significant reforms have been carried out in recent years in the fields of labour and employment.
The parties highlighted the productive cooperation between the Ministry and the IOM and emphasized the importance of the joint projects being implemented. It was also noted that the cooperation document signed in 2022 between the State Social Protection Fund under the Ministry and the IOM Azerbaijan Representation marked another important step in strengthening relations.
Mohammed Abdiker expressed satisfaction with the ongoing work carried out within the framework of joint areas of activity and noted that cooperation continues to expand steadily.
During the meeting, future cooperation opportunities were discussed in areas such as labour migration, the expansion and improvement of data systems in this field, and the development of social work services for migrants.
