The appointment of benefits for temporary disability, maternity, childbirth, and others will also be digitized
Reforms in the social sector also encompass the insurance and pension system, aiming to ensure continuous growth in pensions and promote the widespread implementation of innovative solutions in this area.
This was discussed during an infosession at the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population regarding ongoing reforms in the insurance and pension sector. Minister of Labour and Social Protection of Population Anar Aliyev noted that, based on President Ilham Aliyev’s instructions, the social reforms implemented in recent years have enabled significant steps to strengthen the social protection of pensioners.
Another aspect mentioned was the establishment of mechanisms for the proactive appointment of pensions, benefits, and stipends since 2019. During this period, nearly 900000 social benefits were proactively assigned through the e-system.
It was also highlighted that, following amendments to the legislation last year, individuals eligible for two or more types of pensions can now have the highest pension assigned through the e-system without having to apply. Efforts were also mentioned regarding the proactive assignment of early pensions to individuals with many children or disabled children.
Additionally, it was announced that a mechanism for the electronic appointment of social insurance-based benefits (including temporary disability, maternity, and childbirth allowances) will be created.
During the infosession, the results of the reforms implemented in the insurance and pension sector in recent years were presented, targets in this area were discussed, and upcoming tasks were debated.
