EPIC promotes and advocates globally the principle of equal pay for work of equal value between women and men. Currently comprising more than 70 member organizations from different countries, the Coalition provides coordinated expert support to governments, employers, and workers’ organizations to achieve further progress in this field, while also facilitating active exchanges of best practices.
With a comprehensive legislative framework and positive experience in ensuring gender equality, Azerbaijan is among the countries in the CIS region that have adopted the largest number of ILO standards and has also acceded to key international conventions related to gender equality.
As a result of reforms implemented in recent years regarding women’s employment, Azerbaijan’s score in the World Bank’s Women, Business and the Law 2024 report increased from 78.8 to 85. These reforms were also presented as a model practice during the 2025 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund.
