Social indicators for January
In January, the State Medical-Social Expertise and Rehabilitation Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population provided 123 thousand rehabilitation aids to 2,800 persons with disabilities.
Of the rehabilitation aids provided, 605 were wheelchairs (including 8 powered wheelchairs), 190 were upper and lower limb prostheses, and 317 were canes, axillary crutches, and forearm crutches.
In addition, 811 pairs and single units of prosthetic and orthopedic footwear, 321 hearing aids, 28 corsets, and other rehabilitation aids were provided to persons with disabilities.
It should be noted that for persons with disabilities who are unable to travel to Baku, to the Agency’s Prosthetic-Orthopedic Production and Rehabilitation Center, to obtain the rehabilitation aids they require, these aids were delivered directly to their homes.
