A media tour was organised to the Vocational and Labour Rehabilitation Centre for Persons with Disabilities under the Social Services Agency of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of the Population.
Media representatives became closely familiar with the conditions created at the Centre and the services provided there for young persons with disabilities.
They were informed that the Centre delivers vocational training and vocational rehabilitation for persons with disabilities aged 15–29 across various professions.
Participants acquire professional skills through 3–6 month courses, including computer operator, assembly operator, artistic carving, carpet weaving, tailoring, men’s and women’s hairdressing, weaving, assistant cook, painting, pottery, and manicure. Individuals who successfully complete the courses receive vocational certificates, and support is provided to facilitate their access to the labour market.
Those admitted to the Centre are provided with dormitory accommodation, meals, social-psychological services, and medical-social services at the expense of the state. In addition to vocational courses, young people at the Centre also participate in music and design clubs, board games, and Paralympic sports training.
In 2025, services were provided to an additional 445 people at the Centre. Of these, 369 individuals were enrolled in vocational training courses and 76 individuals received social rehabilitation services. Currently, various social services are being provided to 130 young persons with disabilities at the Centre.
The Agency also regularly organises sales exhibitions featuring handicrafts created by the Centre’s beneficiaries. The aim of these events is to introduce the creative abilities of young persons with disabilities to the wider public, support their integration into society, and strengthen their economic independence and self-confidence.
