Operating under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, the Social Services Agency continues to implement social rehabilitation activities in penitentiary institutions in cooperation with the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice, in accordance with the jointly executed Action Plan.
This time, Agency representatives visited the Lankaran Penitentiary Complex and met with inmates nearing the end of their sentences. During the meeting, participants were informed about the Agency’s areas of activity and the social adaptation process.
It was noted that, for the purpose of social rehabilitation of persons released from penitentiary institutions, specialists conduct visits to their families, and based on the results of the assessments, these individuals are provided with social-psychological and other relevant services.
Following the presentation, inmates’ questions were addressed and necessary explanations were provided.
During the meeting, information was collected and assessments were conducted for 17 inmates with approximately three months remaining until the completion of their sentences. These individuals are planned to be included in social-psychological support service after their release.
