Employees of the Social Services Agency under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population held meetings in two additional correctional facilities with the aim of supporting the reintegration and social adaptation of individuals deprived of liberty.
During the meetings with inmates nearing the end of their prison terms at the Umbaki Penitentiary Complex and the Specialized Treatment Facility of the Penitentiary Service, information was provided about the Agency’s areas of activity. The efforts undertaken to facilitate the reintegration and social adaptation of individuals released from correctional institutions were also highlighted.
It was emphasized that visits to the families of such individuals are organized, and based on the outcomes of conducted assessments, they are involved in socio-psychological as well as other social services.
During the visits to the mentioned correctional facilities, assessments were carried out for 26 inmates whose sentences will expire within three months. These individuals are planned to be engaged in socio-psychological support services upon their release.
These meetings are held on a regular basis in accordance with the joint action plan signed between the Social Services Agency and the Penitentiary Service of the Ministry of Justice.
